The serene elegance of ballet. Its dancers clad in elegantly designed clothing as the dancers moves so fluently across the stage is nothing short of beautiful. Audiences fall silent before the performances as if they could feel themselves being lifted up from their chairs and are slowly being moved toward the stage, as if the ballet has an almost ethereal effect upon them. As for the performers, their performances are never as set in stone as they appear, for there is an internal struggle within their movements and bodies that they are simply in the middle: the struggle between the black and white swans. The white swan is the representation of purity and finesse, hoping to entice her viewers with her sullen and subtle movements, each one perfectly calculated and instrumental to her performance. She gazes upon the audience with love and acceptance as they gaze upon her with awe and admiration. Opposite of this spectrum lies the dark veil of the black swan. She utilizes the sexual appeal and bold movements of the dancer into her works, generating a sensual and daring performance that is sure to grasp anyone's attention. Her visions are filled with lust and seductions of the flesh, allowing her to enter one's mind and almost immediately entice in an instant. Her brilliant eyes glow toward the audience enticingly as they are all forever wrapped within her grasp. Her black dress hugging her body in a silken embrace as she glides across the floor without the slightest break in stride. These two elements are always in flux with one another and its no surprise that those who are caught in between will also see that their style has taken on a form of duality as well; forever trapped between the two style unsure whether to entice or seduce as they move seamless across the endless stage of life. Black Swan, created by *bluefeathers, presents us with her personal representation of the mysterious and enigmatic entity known as the Black swan and depicts her in a light that few could ever display her in, and in the light she definitely shines.

The first thing that caught my eye in this piece had to be the overall design style and quality of its detailing. Intricately detailed elements of the black swan's costume really build on the overall personality of the character herself, showing off a sensual and revealing attire that perfectly reflects the seductive nature of the black swan. Her facial design has a soft appearance to it while retaining a hardened confidence of a seasoned performer. The bold and encompassing colors of her dress feel give off a perfect representation of how the influence of the black swan can fill the mind of a dancer both on and off the stage. The white background does a nice job to work as the subconscious of the dancer as the black swan's influence grows more and more dominant within, giving off a rather tense and rather dramatic feeling to the entire piece. The hanging chandelier's are a nice touch as well, adding more to the overall atmospheric toning of the entire composition. A slight glowing tinge to the whole set further ads to the whole subconscious effect to the design. Your compositional elements in condition with the atmospheric tension of the piece and brings out quite a lot of the inner beauty of the piece.

While the primary design gives off quite a bit of personality within the presentation, there are still a few things that could be used to improve the overall composition. There is still quite a bit you could do with the detailing of the character herself. Try adding more creasing into the clothing design, perhaps even add some subtle wrinkling into certain parts of her face perhaps to reflect off the the strain of the mind of the performer as she struggles to move throughout her performance with her mind still in flux. As I said before on one of your previous pieces, you need to do something about the background elements. Adding a stage element would really do wonders for the atmospheric tone of the piece. Perhaps you could even experiment with the scaling of the piece a bit, giving it a huge boost in presentation quality as well as giving the viewer more of an insight into the world and immerse them into the atmosphere. Keep experimenting with your work as you progress with background elements as I feel they could do wonders for your artwork.

We may never truly know what goes through the minds of performers as they move across the stage, however what cannot be denied is that their art takes much time and practice to master and is always a beautiful sight when witnessed. The fluxing between light and dark is always a daunting challenge for anyone to battle against and we may never know who will dominate the performer in the end. Regardless of that, at least it will be one hell of a show before it all ends. Black Swan is a more than welcome reminder of that fact and is sure to entice any viewer who lays eyes upon this piece as if they're watching the show happen before their eyes, under the shadow of the black swan's veil. Great work, *bluefeathers!

I am absolutely stunned at how you drew the Black Swan/ Odile. You represent her seductive beauty yet still manage to show the delicate figure of the whole character. Innocent evil at it's best! Bravo!
